	Getting There: Getting to Calabria is Easy & Affordable Lamezia Terme Airport is reachable by direct flights from many European cities. Travelers from the America's and Asia change make connections in either Milan or Rome. Getting to Amato by Air: Lamezia Terme airport is only 20 minutes drive from Amato town, and Amato is only 15 minutes from Catanzaro rail links. Lamezia is on the Tyrrhenian Sea while Catanzaro is on the Ionian. Upon landing in Lamezia, travelers cross the narrowest part of the Italian peninsula to arrive at Amato or Catanzaro. Ryanair flights operate direct from London Stanstead (STN) to Lamezia Terme (SUF) a number of times a week. Alitalia fly direct to Lamezia from Heathrow Easyjet and other budget airlines also fly via Rome, Milan (Malpensa) and Pisa, connecting with either rail links or internal connecting flights via carriers such as Volare Getting to Amato via Rail: There is a modern station recently opened at Catanzaro, which provides fast train services to Naples and other major connections. There is also a local rail station at Marcellinara, which is only 4km from Amato. Getting Around Calabria: Calabria is well connected by air, railway and roads. By Car: The A3 or Autostrada del Sol, runs toll-free from Salerno to Reggio Calabria. Other lines include the eastern line of Taranto-Sibari-Crotone-Catanzaro Lido - Reggio Calabria and connectors Lamezia-Catanzaro, and Paola-Cosenza. Airports: Lamezia is Calabria's largest airport, with connections to the main Italian cities and to some European destinations. Minniti Airport in Reggio di Calabria offers flights to Rome and Milan as well as Malta and Madrid in summer. Sant' Anna airport in Crotone is relatively new and offers some international connections like Istanbul, Copenhagen, Berlin, and Monaco. Ferries: There are connections across the straights of Messina to Sicily.
